Vedran Smailović, the ‘Cellist of Sarajevo’ played today in The Holiday Inn Hotel in Sarajevo. It was the first time after the war. Smailović was the guy who took his cello in the streets of Sarajevo to play Albinoni’s Adagio while the city was onder attack.  He didn’t play that piece today. After the concert I asked him why. “Because that was part of that time. It’s history. I don’t want to play it anymore.”

Op kerstochtend keek ik in De Ochtend op VRT Radio 1 terug op de voorpremiere van In The Land Of Blood And Honey, het regiedebuut van Angelina Jolie.

De film over een liefdesrelatie tussen een Bosnische moslima en een Servische officier in een verkrachtingskamp zorgde bij de eerste vertoning in Sarajevo voor geschokte reacties. De film gaat in februari officieel wereldwijd in premiere.
